We are located in East Los Angeles, just a few minutes drive from Downtown LA, close to Monterey Park, Montebello, and the City of Commerce. We are by the 710 and 60 fwys and a short distance from the 5 fwy.

How much are custom cakes?

The price of custom cakes depends on various factors including the number of servings, the difficulty of design, color matching, amount of details, flavor, and where the cake is going. Typically custom orders will start at $100-125 for a small cake and go up from there.  If you’d like to find out how much your custom cake will be, please fill out an order form to get a quote.

How long in advance do I need to place a custom order?

Ideally, at least 2 weeks notice is recommended to place a custom order especially for large intricate requests. We don’t recommend placing orders more than one year out because people tend to change their minds a lot and anything can happen in just a few months. Any orders placed within 10 days of your event date are subject to an additional Rush Fee. 

What is your payment policy for custom cakes?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your order; the remainder is due at least two weeks prior to your event.

Cake orders placed with less than two weeks notice require payment in full by credit card at the time of ordering.

Cake orders placed with less than 10 days notice are subject to a rush fee of 15%-50%.

How do I store my cake?

You’ll want to keep your cake in a cool place away from direct sunlight. We recommend refrigerating your cake especially on a hot day and taking it out for at least 15 mins before serving. It may be left out on display as long as it’s away from any heat. Your cake should be good for about 5-7 days wrapped in the refrigerator, longer in the freezer. 

Do you offer cake tastings?

Coming soon taster boxes of 4 flavors or 6 flavors will be available for purchase.

Do you offer vegan and gluten free options?

Yes. However vegan and gluten free options are limited on flavors and subject to an additional charge. 

Do you offer other sweet treats other than cakes?

Yes. We focus mainly on cakes but also offer other sweet treats like cake jars, cupcakes, mini cupcakes, sugar cookies, rice cereal treats, etc upon request.

How much is delivery?

Delivery fees are $100/hr and the price is based on round trip travel time and set up. We’ll ask for a one-hour delivery window and delivery address to calculate your delivery fee. The one-hour delivery window is important because we all know in LA that driving at 11am is way different than 5pm and can increase travel time by hours. 

Can I pick up my cake?

Picking up your cake is a great way to save money. If you choose to pick up your cake you should make sure that you have a clean, flat surface to set the cake on while driving. Vans, sport utility and any vehicle that the back seat folds in so the air conditioning can make it to the trunk are the best for traveling. If you are in a car, the floor is generally safer than the seat. Once you leave with the cake it is no longer the responsibility of Abs of Cakes.
